| Last weekend we took Ben to BJU for an official college visit. He stayed in the dorms with his cousin Jeffrey (who is on the same hall as cousins David and Michael) and got to see some friends from church as well. He was able to go to some classes, society meeting, and soccer games on Friday. He had a great time. Charlie, Ashley, and I enjoyed visiting with the other cousins, seeing Stephanie's new place and meeting Daisy. Thanks to Bryan, Carly, and Clancy for their hospitality. We had a great time at Jeffrey's birthday party (sorry about the card Jeffrey - not really) Saturday night and were able to meet some of the other cousins - friends of cousins, sister of friends of cousins, and even a Wothe cousin. Our family just keeps growing. Everybody wants to be a "cousin." Charlie and I were able to catch up with some friends as well. We enjoyed spending about an hour with my campus parents, The Fredericks. We also got to chat with Charlie's office mate from Clemson who is now teaching at BJU. And we even ran into our foreign language teacher from high school, Mr. Loach. He told us we looked like we were definately middle aged, but I think he was really talking about Charlie because he was looking right at him and his gray hair when he said it. I think we will be making many more trips to South Carolina. | | |
| I enjoy reading the comics in the newspaper. My newspaper doesn't carry all of my favorites but I can usually find them online. My all time favorite is Calvin & Hobbes which is no longer published but I am saving my pennies to buy the 2 volume Calvin & Hobbes box set. The comics give me the chance to laugh at myself and the circumstances in which I find myself. The following gave me a good laugh today. I was leaving my name and phone number with someone today. I gave her my phone number then she asked for my name. I said my name and the immediately began to spell it. She started writing what she thought she heard, then stopped and looked at me. I again spelled it very slowly, waiting for her to finish writing each letter before moving on to the next. L - E - T - H - A. When we were finished she looked at me and said, "That is a VERY unusual name." Tell me something I don't know. The first comic I read today was this one. Substitute my name for the name Thelma and it is even funnier.
I live with a teenage boy. Enough said.

| Today is Jessica's 16th birthday. She is always very excited for her birthday to come. Today she had some friends over for pizza and cake and got a special gift from her aunts.
Yummy! I don't know if she will share any of these cookies. Thank you Aunt Cheryl, Aunt Linda, and Aunt Debbie.
Jessica and her best friends, Esther, Jean, Lindsey, and Alyssa. | | |
